A panel celebrating the launch of Mila Burns’s new book, Dona Ivone Lara's Sorriso Negro, along with Bethânia Gomes of Dance Theatre of Harlem. We will discuss women's activism in the arts and the brilliant analysis Mila presents in her book: the impact of one of the most important samba albums of all time and the legacy of Dona Ivone Lara's career as a black female composer in a male dominated industry.
